David Abeles General Don't worry--railpicture just sucks. I have given up it entirely and don't even maintain an account there. Nice shot--I like those F40's. 6/5/2006 2:28:05 PM
Scott Flynn General I agree nice shot as well. I had the same problem with that site. I have boycotted them ever since, even for any type of research I am doing. Keep up the good work. 6/5/2006 4:58:03 PM
Mark Mears General What is that website's problem? Great picture!!! 6/5/2006 5:20:28 PM
Chris Martin General See man, their deal is...if you aren't a part of their uptight country club, well you are just out of luck. Now if this had been a pic by "one of the boys" it would have made it. 6/5/2006 5:24:47 PM
Kameron Smith General railpictures is just pictures of trains mixed in with a bunch of ads. Nice photo 6/5/2006 5:46:08 PM
Pat Scott General I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Post it here like you did and move on. If you are shooting to get your shots on that site, you are in this hobby for the wrong reason. Do it for yourself. 6/5/2006 7:58:26 PM
Zach Pumphery General RailBastards.Net. I post there when I get done with the day's shots on this one or I get bored...screw them. 6/5/2006 8:20:45 PM
Rick Hoar General Welcome to the club. Their pics tend to be on the boring side as they are mostly 3/4 frontals. Oh, or the blurred lights night shots, they foam over those. You took some nice shots. 6/5/2006 10:31:22 PM
Keith Pokorny General I have had many rejeted shots also I have given up on that site an just post here now. Oh and how about those disgusting close ups they have of the front of locomotives covered with dead bugs it is just plain disgusting and does not belong on a rail picture stie. Great photo andrew I hope to see more from you. 6/5/2006 11:09:47 PM
Allan Love Jr General YES I DO AGREE WITH ALL YA. GREAT SHOT. 6/6/2006 7:54:45 AM
Atlanta Rails General Looks good to me, railpictres will not except anything of mine either. Stuff that got me a red ribbon here wont even be accepted there. I bet they make up half of there reasons for rejections on the spot. 6/6/2006 1:17:52 PM
Pat Scott General They do not make up their rejections on the spot. They have certain criteria for acceptance. If you meet it, they usually accept it. Ribbons here mean Tim likes a picture. It's all in the eye of the beholder. Again, shoot for yourself, not to please a website. 6/6/2006 4:13:01 PM
Alan Garrett General I think that it is the 'criteria' that they use that is in question. The shot on the 'cover' of my page here was rejected. I make my living as a photographer. This site is far superior in my opinion, so this is where I put my support. 6/6/2006 4:37:42 PM
Pat Scott General In question photographically perhaps. In question as to what they want, no. It's pretty easy to get shots on that site, if you want to conform. But why? I saw your foggy shot last night. I like those type of shots. They didn't like it for some reason, clouds, far away train, I don't know. 6/6/2006 6:21:24 PM
Mike Kirsch General The picture is good, but what I finally learned from Railpictures.net is you need more light. Get on the side with the sun, it is a little dark on this side. Or find a location where the sun would hit it just right. By the way, it's a Metra, like an Amtrak, but even more boring. My opinion only. 6/6/2006 8:16:35 PM
Mike Kirsch General Also sometimes you might have to work on the photos before sending it in to Railpictures.net. Cropping, lighting, etc. Some people put photos on that came right out of the camera where there is more sky than there is train and they expect a Gold medal. Just because your photos don't make it to Railpictures.net, that doesn't mean that website sucks. I have alot of photos on the site but I also had many rejections. And no I don't work for them. 6/6/2006 8:25:46 PM
Pat Scott General Well said, Mike. Many of the people who complain about the site also don't take criticism. While railpictures.net is not the divine photography spot some people make it, it can help you sharpen your skills if you pay attention to their rejections and ask for help in the forum (in a nice way.) 6/7/2006 9:39:20 AM
Floyd Gordon General Perhaps not the "perfect picture" as defined by some, but you are probably like me. I try to live in the real world and I take some with the light just so and I take some as they present themself as in real railroading. I enjoy your photos, keep working on them. You are doing just fine! As Pat Scott said "Shoot for yourself, not to please a website." Cheers! Floyd 8/3/2006 11:53:36 AM
Andrew Sax General Wow, I never knew how many people looked and put comments on the pictures! Thanks dudes and dudetts! ;) I am starting over with railpictures.net now, and am doing great, I just needed to find my photography skills and wedgie shots. ;) 10/11/2007 10:07:57 PM
Christopher Bodkin General RailBastards.net... I like! 11/20/2007 8:57:15 PM
Christopher Bodkin General I don't need some site to tell me how to shoot my pictures. rrpicturearchives.net forever! 11/20/2007 8:59:27 PM
Zach Pumphery General I've seen better looking piles of castrated goat scrotums than this shot. It's a backlit, pixalated wedgie of Metra. It's not like there hasn't been a couple million of these taken within the past year. They're a bunch of greedy bastards over there at RP.Net, but they do have their standards, and this photo fell way below them. Get over it, have fun watching choo choos go by. 12/27/2007 11:39:15 AM
Jeff Thoreson General I managed to get banned from posting to RailPictures because, after my 35th straight rejection (no kidding, it was 35 straight) I wrote the owner Chris Cocksucker (oops, I mean Chris Killer...er, Kilroy) a nice little letter and told him to take his site and shove it up his gay ass. lol. Don't even bother with RP.net. 4/2/2008 9:07:49 AM
C.S. Jackson General The Best pictures are on RailImages.com. They saw some of my pictures and didn't haven't got any problems with them since. 12/28/2008 7:00:07 PM
